Course
MDS in Public Health Dentistry is a postgraduate course. Public Health Dentistry is a branch of general dentistry that involves dispensing professional oral health care at the community level. Students enrolled to the course are trained to practise the discipline towards prevention and control of dental diseases, and promotion of dental health through organized community efforts.Public Health Dentistry is the science and art of preventing oral and dental diseases and promoting oral and dental health, and general well-being among people of the community. The Department of Public Health Dentistry is concerned with purveying dental health education at the community level, also by means of applied dental research, administration of group dental care programs, and prevention and control of dental diseases among school-going children.
Eligibility
BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery), completed from an institute recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI).
A minimum aggregate score of 55% or equivalent CGPA at the level of graduation.
Duration: MDS in Public Health Dentistry is a 3-year full-time postgraduate course divided across 4 semesters.
