Course
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is established in the year 1999. The current intake of UG program is 120 and PG with 18.The main focus of the department is to produce graduates and post graduates with the expertise in Computer Science and Engineer domain. The outcome based education to helps students to achieve this goal. The college is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The department offers various degrees namely Bachelor of Engineering (B.E), Master of Technology (M.Tech) in CSE and PhD.The department has got grants from various prestigious funding agencies like VGST-KFIST Level-I, IEI, KSCST.
The department has qualified, experienced & committed teaching faculty members with various specializations. Faculties with Ph.D. degree and those who are pursuing Ph.D. provide qualitative industry level education. Due to the quality teaching, the students of the department are performing well in the examination and they have got a rank during the academic year 2013-14 and 2 ranks during academic year 2017-18.
The Department has well equipped laboratory with state of art equipment and software tools.A computer center with over 200 computers caters to the student needs along with the strong R&D culture. Active professional bodies like CSI, ISTE & IEI and IEEE which helps to conduct FDPs, STTPs, ATPs to comprehend and upgrade latest technologies.Activities such as Technical conferences, HACKATHON, Coding Contests, Seminars and Workshops are carried out for the students to boost their technical skills and knowledge.
BE in Computer Science & Engineering is an undergraduate program. Computer science and engineering are now cornerstones of the information society. This course is designed to enable learners for industry, academia, and public service, providing technical leadership by solving significant problems across a broad spectrum. The course is cross-disciplinary, allowing students to learn the language specificities of computer science, explore programming or modelling and design, and all of the other core aspects of the subject, whilst being also trained in industrial ethics and engaging in industry-inspired lab sessions
Eligibility
- The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination, second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government; the last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and should have passed these subjects individually along with English as a compulsory subject.
- Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Bio Technology or Biology or Computer Science or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. However, changes, if any, in the eligibility criteria by the AICTE will be adopted.
- The General Merit candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State)
