Course
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is established in the year 1999.The current intake of UG program is 120 and PG with 18.The main focus of the department is to produce graduates and post graduates with the expertise in Computer Science and Engineer domain. The outcome based education to helps students to achieve this goal. The college is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The department offers various degrees namely Bachelor of Engineering (B.E), Master of Technology (M.Tech) in CSE and PhD.The department has got grants from various prestigious funding agencies like VGST-KFIST Level-I, IEI, KSCST.
The department has qualified, experienced & committed teaching faculty members with various specializations. Faculties with Ph.D. degree and those who are pursuing Ph.D. provide qualitative industry level education. Due to the quality teaching, the students of the department are performing well in the examination and they have got a rank during the academic year 2013-14 and 2 ranks during academic year 2017-18.
The Department has well equipped laboratory with state of art equipment and software tools.A computer center with over 200 computers caters to the student needs along with the strong R&D culture. Active professional bodies like CSI, ISTE & IEI and IEEE which helps to conduct FDPs, STTPs, ATPs to comprehend and upgrade latest technologies.Activities such as Technical conferences, HACKATHON, Coding Contests, Seminars and Workshops are carried out for the students to boost their technical skills and knowledge.The department student teams have won MHRD organized Smart India Hackathon(SIH) for 3 consecutive years (2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19)and TCS EngiNX competitions.
M.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering is a Postgraduate program. Computer science and engineering are now cornerstones of the information society. This course is designed to enable learners for industry, academia, and public service, providing technical leadership by solving significant problems across a broad spectrum. The course is cross-disciplinary, allowing students to learn the language specificities of computer science, explore programming or modelling and design, and all of the other core aspects of the subject, whilst being also trained in industrial ethics and engaging in industry-inspired lab sessions.Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) is an academic program at some universities that integrates the fields of computer engineering and computer science, providing knowledge of computing systems in both hardware and software design.
Eligibility
A candidate who has passed qualifying examination or equivalent examination as prescribed by the Competent Authority and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of all the years / semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission. (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates and reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates)
