Electronics and Communication Engineering Department was established in the year 1986 with an intake of 60 students for Bachelor of Engineering (BE) programme and affiliated to Bangalore University. Subsequently the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Kalpataru Institute of Technology was affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University during the year 1998. Currently the department is offering Bachelor of Engineering with an intake of 120 students in Under Graduate (UG) programme and Master of Technology (M.Tech) in VLSI Design and Embedded systems with an intake of 18 students under Post Graduate (PG) programme. The Department offers an excellent academic environment with a team of highly qualified and dedicated faculties. Several staff members are currently doing their research work and are involved in taking care of several projects. The department has upgraded tools like CADENCE which is the backbone for Digital and Analog IC chip designing. The department has provided the students with well equipped laboratories and facilities for academic excellences.

Electronics and Communications Engineering is one of the most popular branches of engineering which involves researching, designing, developing, testing and maintaining of electronic equipment. Electronics and Communication Engineers also supervise the assembling and manufacturing of communication and broadcast systems. The field of Electronics and Communications Engineering has its foundations in three major technical areas: Mathematics: Information, Networks and Systems, Physics: Circuits, Semiconductor Devices & Optical Systems, and Computers: Microprocessors and Computing devices.
EligibilityPass in two year Pre-University Examination or its equivalent with 45% marks in aggregate in Physics, Mathematics (Biology, Chemistry, Electronics and Computer Science any one of these subjects is optional for third subject) (for SC/ST 40%)
