The department was established in the year 1995 with an initial intake of 60 students. Since last 10 years the department has made many achievements in the ladder of success. With the combination of highly qualified and dedicated lecturers and motivated students working in unison, the Department of Information Science and Engineering is one of the most successful departments in KIT.
B.E. Information Science and Engineering is an Under-Graduation course.Information science focuses on understanding problems from the perspective of the stakeholders involved and then applying information and other technologies as needed. In other words, it tackles systemic problems first rather than individual pieces of technology within that system.It also throws light on how to analyse and interpret the raw data. It is an academic field which is primarily concerned with analysis, collection, classification, manipulation, storage, retrieval, movement, dissemination, and protection of information.
EligibilityPass in two year Pre-University Examination or its equivalent with 45% marks in aggregate in Physics, Mathematics (Biology, Chemistry, Electronics and Computer Science any one of these subjects is optional for third subject) (for SC/ST 40%)
