Course
A PhD program in Persian offers a clearer perspective of Iranian culture and literature. It is a study of history, religion, language, culture and politics of the Persian speaking population in Iran and the neighbouring states in west Asia. It delves deep into the rich history of the language and its heritage. The program also examines critically the methodologies that are undertaken while carrying out research in Persian and Iranian studies. The program is useful for non-Iranian candidates having a deep interest in learning a good deal about Persian language and the culture associated with it.
Eligibility
Candidates should preferably have a M.A. in Persian. Others with post graduation degree in other streams should be proficient in Persian.
Duration: 3 - 4 years
