MA Philosophy in India is a postgraduate course which is offered by many universities and colleges throughout the country.MA Philosophy is a majorly theoretical course which imparts to students the knowledge of human psychology and the associated tenets. It gives them a better understanding of the world and teaches the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence.
MA Philosophy teaches about different philosophies around the world. The course gives students a new outlook upon the world and makes them understand the nuances of human behaviour. A deep and critical study, this course is majorly a theoretical course and helps students analyze the world better. The course curriculum ranges from Indian philosophers to the Greek philosophers and also encompasses the western philosophers.
The major topics taught include Logic, Ethics, Language, Religion, Reality, etc. The students also study about various ‘isms’ and religious perspectives. It not only talks about the different philosophers and their philosophies but also situates the historical philosophies in the current contexts and provides a critical view on them. It is a wide course which incorporates various philosophical tenets like that of feminism, symbolization, imagination, Marxism etc.
Eligibility
The basic eligibility for pursuing this course is that the student should have cleared their bachelor’s degree from a recognized institute with philosophy or any related subject as the chief subject.
