Course
Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Geography is a postgraduate course.This course focuses on the 2 divisions of geography which are physical geography and human geography. In this course, students learn to produce new solutions for the geographical issues in the environmental surroundings.M.Phil. in Geography course covers an introduction to geography. It teaches students about the foundation in the study of geography and physical character of Earth. Graduates learn about vegetation, weather patterns, climate issues, soils, water usage and landforms. This course focuses on impacts of population and their requirements in this field.
In this course, major topics student’s studies include Economic development, population growth, resource allocation, urbanization, and geopolitics. These topics also serve as an introduction to the programs, other technologies and satellite systems used in this field. Students learn about current issues in Geographical Information Systems, digital mapping, mining, and data collection.
Eligibility
- Master’s degree in Geography or Earth Systems Sciences or in any stream of social science
- Minimum of 55% or equivalent marks at the level of graduation.
- SC/ST/OBC students must score a minimum of 50% marks
