The study of folk cookery is a part of folk culture which covers the whole subject of food production, preparation and preservation along with the actual cooking methods and consumption of food. Foods should be both tasty and look good, foi which basic cooking knowledge is essential. Dieatary factors maintain the health and protect the body from diseases. The rule of diet in health and diseases is more evident in the life of the tribal folk. In this chapter. I shall try to analyse how locally available food products ha\e been used by the Mismg folk for maximum nutritional benefits
