Course
The specialty of craniofacial surgery involves the treatment of skull and facial deformities arising at the time of birth.The philosophy of care for the child with a craniofacial condition is to provide a comprehensive multidisciplinary service that addresses both the equally important functional, aesthetic and psychological aspects of the conditions seen by the group. The multidisciplinary approach includes a Craniofacial Surgeon, Paediatric Neurosurgeon, Neuro-Anesthetist, Paediatrician, Ophthalmologists, Plastic Surgeons, Audiologists and Dentists.
Plastic Surgeons who work in the field of Craniofacial Surgery have the chance to change children's lives, often right from birth. From skull and forehead anomalies such as craniosynostosis to facial conditions such as cleft palate and cleft lip, to dental and maxillofacial procedures, our Craniofacial Surgery fellows learn about the full spectrum of craniofacial procedures under the most experienced faculty surgeons.
Eligibility
- M.Ch. in Plastic Surgery (recognized by MCI) or DNB in Plastic Surgery or equivalent two years of experience in Plastic Surgery in a teaching institute OR
- M.D.S. in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (recognized by DCI) with exposure to Cleft Lip-Palate Surgeries.
- MS in General Surgery/ENT (recognized by MCI) with exposure to Cleft Lip-Palate Surgeries
