M.D.S. Periodontics is a postgraduate programme. Periodontics is a branch of dentistry that deals with diseases of the supporting and investing structures of the teeth including the gums, cementum, periodontal membranes, and alveolar bone. Periodontal diseases are bacterial infections that destroy the attachment fibers and supporting bone that hold the teeth in the mouth. The course helps to prevent the occurrence, if not curb the actual spread of damage already caused by the infection.
Eligibility
Students should have passed a B.D.S. degree with minimum 55% marks from a recognised university board.
