The Dept. of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2010 during the academic year 2009-2010 with an initial intake of 60.The BE Civil Engineering Department has well qualified and experienced faculty members. The faculties are also encouraged to participate in Faculty Development program, Workshops, and conferences conducted by various other academic institutions, Government organizations like ISRO etc, private organizations. Seminars, Guest Lectures, and Expert lectures are periodically conducted for the benefit of the students. Students are encouraged to participate in technical paper contests conducted by various institutions/ organization.The department is endowed with well-equipped labs which meet the standards specified with by AICTE.
Department of Civil Engineering offers UG (BE) courses in Civil engineering. Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings. Civil engineers are responsible for building the world’s infrastructure. In doing so, they quietly shape the history of nations around the world.
B.E. Civil Engineering is an undergraduate engineering course.Civil engineering is the broadest of the engineering fields. Civil engineering focuses on the infrastructure of the world which include Water works, Sewers, Dams, Power Plants, Transmission Towers/Lines, Railroads, Highways, Bridges, Tunnels, Irrigation Canals, River Navigation, Shipping Canals, Traffic Control, Mass Transit, Airport Runways, Terminals, Industrial Plant Buildings, Skyscrapers, etc. Among the important subdivisions of the field are construction engineering, irrigation engineering, transportation engineering, soils and foundation engineering, geodetic engineering, hydraulic engineering, and coastal and ocean engineering.
Eligibility
Candidates have to pass their 10+2 examinations or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. with 55% of marks to be eligible for this course.
