The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was started in the year 2001 with an approved intake of 120. The department has a good team of dynamic, highly qualified and dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff, who are experienced both in industry and academics and ready for lending their hand in any situations to boost every individual student. Most of the faculty members are having PhDs, moreover many are pursuing their PhDs at various reputed universities and their area of research are Data Mining, Cloud Computing, Wireless Sensor Networks, Neural Networks etc, to name a few. Under the faculty development programs, the staff members are encouraged to periodically attend refresher courses to keep themselves updated on the latest technologies and upgrade their skills.
The Department of Computer Science at KNSIT prepares the students for professional employment and progressive careers as Computer Engineers and provides the fundamental knowledge needed for long-term professional growth and active lifetime learning of new developments in the field.
This will be achieved through following: state of art infrastructure, constant knowledge up-gradation of faculty, quality policies, and value addition skills.
The academic activities of the Department lay emphasis on deep understanding of fundamental concepts, development of creative ability to handle the challenges of CS Engineering, and the analytical ability to solve problems which are interdisciplinary in nature.
BE in Computer Science & Engineering is an undergraduate program. Computer science and engineering are now cornerstones of the information society. This course is designed to enable learners for industry, academia, and public service, providing technical leadership by solving significant problems across a broad spectrum. The course is cross-disciplinary, allowing students to learn the language specificities of computer science, explore programming or modelling and design, and all of the other core aspects of the subject, whilst being also trained in industrial ethics and engaging in industry-inspired lab sessions.
Eligibility
Candidates who have passed in 10+2 Examination are eligible with 45% marks in aggregate with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology, are eligible.
