Course
The course is a research-based advanced study into the discipline of English literature, transcending cultures, periods, and genres. Contemporary literary theories and culture-based studies are included within the course’s scope. side from European and Continental writings in English, Indian writings in English also form a major part of the program’s curriculum. Comparative literature, translation-based studies, and linguistics also comprise a significant part of the syllabus.Such scholars have the option of specializing in research in nineteenth and twentieth century literature, or Shakespeare’s drama and sonnets, among others. Social, political, and cultural impact of literature is academically explored on an advanced level within the course of the postgraduate program.The program enables enrolled candidates to academically explore the language’s historical background in India, hurdles that impede English language and literature teaching in the country, and debates surrounding major works of literature in the language.Cultural differences in literary texts, hybridity of culture, thought, and ideas form an important part of the English literature, and consequently, its advanced, intensive scholarly exploration through this primarily research-based course.

Eligibility
- Successful completion of post-graduation in English Literature.
- A minimum aggregate score of 55% at the level of post-graduation.
