Department is approved by AICTE Delhi, affiliated with VTU and ISO 9001-2008 Certified.With the support of excellent laboratory facilities, the faculty with an ever-look-beyond attitude are destined to bring forth engineers to rise up to the challenge for the creation of fast building plans and more infrastructure , which is the need of the time.Providing the content and the context, the department opens wide the practical exposure for the students to seize the fleeting opportunities in the industry.The department has experienced faculty members specialized in civil engineering, environmental engineering, structural design, product design and manufacturing, C-CAD, Manufacturing science and others.Planned to establish high level laboratory`s as per VTU syllabus being first batch, and some of the labs and other facilities already available in college.
B.E. Civil Engineering is an undergraduate engineering course.Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, and railways.
Civil engineering is the broadest of the engineering fields. Civil engineering focuses on the infrastructure of the world which include Water works, Sewers, Dams, Power Plants, Transmission Towers/Lines, Railroads, Highways, Bridges, Tunnels, Irrigation Canals, River Navigation, Shipping Canals, Traffic Control, Mass Transit, Airport Runways, Terminals, Industrial Plant Buildings, Skyscrapers, etc. Among the important subdivisions of the field are construction engineering, irrigation engineering, transportation engineering, soils and foundation engineering, geodetic engineering, hydraulic engineering, and coastal and ocean engineering.
Eligibility
- Candidates seeking admission to the first year of the four year B.E., degree should have passed the two years of pre-university examinations (Physics, Mathematics and any one of Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science as optional subjects) conducted by the Pre-University Board of Karnataka State or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Visvesvaraya Technological University and should have obtained not less than 45% marks in the optional subjects.
- Candidates seeking admission to second year of the four year B.E., degree must have passed the three year Diploma course conducted by the Board of Technical Examination of Karnataka Government in the respective Branches/Courses or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Visvesvaraya Technological University.
- In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST & Category I/II/III (Karnataka students only), the minimum percentage of marks shall not be less than 45% in the optional subjects as per rules. Admissions will be according to reservation policy of the State Government.
