Course
The department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering started in the academic year 2004-05 with an approved intake of 60 students. The department has a team of well-qualified and experienced faculty.
The department has state-of-the-art laboratories. The simulation laboratory is equipped with latest computers and servers installed with licensed software. The students are encouraged to work on both in-house projects and also with leading organizations in electrical sciences like CPRI, HAL, BESCOM, BHEL, DRDO and also with other industries like Kirloskar and GE.
The department, its faculty and students utilize all the central facilities like seminar hall, central library, on line access of journals etc. very effectively to create a good teaching/ learning environment.
The Department could achieve the distinction of securing cent percent results in eighth semester examinations for the past seven consecutive years. Also the department is proud of having a VTU approved research centre.
The department is heading to progress every year with additions to infrastructure and faculty.
B.E. Electrical and Electronic Engineering is under -graduation degree course. The main objective of this course is to make the students more productive and professionally more innovative in the field of electronics and electrical industry. Programs include classroom, laboratory, and field studies. Electrical Engineering covers various energy efficient power grids to design the electrical systems powering our lives and range of research areas from devices (such as lasers and robotics) to systems (such as computer architecture and the human brain).Electronic engineering is an electrical engineering discipline which utilizes nonlinear and active electrical components to design electronic circuits, devices, integrated circuits and their systems. The discipline typically also designs passive electrical components, usually based on printed circuit boards.
Eligibility
- Candidates seeking admission to the first year of the four year B.E., degree should have passed the two years of pre-university examinations (Physics, Mathematics and any one of Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science as optional subjects) conducted by the Pre-University Board of Karnataka State or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Visvesvaraya Technological University and should have obtained not less than 45% marks in the optional subjects.
- Candidates seeking admission to second year of the four year B.E., degree must have passed the three year Diploma course conducted by the Board of Technical Examination of Karnataka Government in the respective Branches/Courses or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Visvesvaraya Technological University.
- In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST & Category I/II/III (Karnataka students only), the minimum percentage of marks shall not be less than 45% in the optional subjects as per rules. Admissions will be according to reservation policy of the State Government.
