Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Civil Engineering is an undergraduate engineering degree Civil engineering is one of the oldest engineering disciplines in the world. Civil engineering, until a few decades back, was a much sought after course among Indian students, but lately has been sidelined due to the software and IT boom. However with the increasing need to develop and maintain India’s infrastructure, which is lagging in all aspects, this field is bouncing back strongly.
Eligibility
- 10+2 with PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) is the basic requirement to take admission in B.Tech Civil Engineering program. Percentage required in qualifying exam is 50% for most of the engineering institutes. However required percentage criteria depend on college.
- Diploma holders in the mechanical or allied stream are also eligible to take admission, in the second year of the course. They must have done their diploma after10th. In some cases candidates having bachelor degree in science are also eligible.
Duration: 4 years
Higher Studies: Candidates who like to study masters in civil engineering can further go for further study.
