Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam offers a three-year degree in Fashion Technology for students with 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board, which helps the candidates in building a rewarding career in the fashion design field. The program deals with the design, sketching and making of clothes and accessories. The fashion industry is dynamic, it is prone to change. The fashion designers should be aware of the customer needs and for that they conduct research in the field. Technical and non-technical aspects of fashion design would be analyzed in the course. Mahatma Gandhi University curriculum includes core subjects such as pattern drafting, fashion illustration, garment design, garment construction, computer application,cutting and sewing, CAD, textile studies, textile equipment,textile materials, fashion merchandising, and fashion communication.
