Doctor of Medicine (MD) Dermatology Venereology & Leprosy is a postgraduate programme offerd by Manipal Academy of Higher Education Manipal.Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin. It is a speciality with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages diseases related to skin, hair and nails and some cosmetic problems,Venereology is a branch of medicine that is concerned with the study and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases. The name derives from Roman goddess Venus, associated with love, beauty and fertility. A physician specializing in venereology is called a venereologist. In many areas of the world, the specialty is usually combined with dermatology and Leprosy(also known as Hansen’s disease) is an infection caused by slow-growing bacteria called Mycobacterium leprae. It can affect the nerves, skin, eyes, and lining of the nose (nasal mucosa). With early diagnosis and treatment, the disease can be cured. People with Hansen’s disease can continue to work and lead an active life during and after treatment.

Eligibility
- Pass in MBBS degree from an Institution / University recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) Internship completion date should be on or before 31.03.2020
- Candidates holding foreign degree must be registered practitioners in the Country from where they have obtained their degree and MUST obtain a temporary registration certificate from Medical Council of India (MCI)
