Master of Science in Community Health Nursing is a postgraduate program.Master of Science in Community Health Nursing course is offered by Manipal Academy of Higher Education Manipal. Community health nurses serve the public in their own environments to promote wellness and improve healthcare. The overall health in some communities may be compromised due to infectious diseases, environmental hazards, violence, poverty, accidents and injuries. Community health seeks to address the needs of specific groups of people within cities, towns or rural areas who may be predisposed to chronic health conditions or communicable diseases but lack insurance or other resources to seek healthcare.
Nurses in community health work in an interdisciplinary team which can include, but is not limited to, mental health nurses, podiatrists, general practitioners, psychologists, women’s health nurses, Aboriginal health workers, allied health and hospital services.
Duration: 2 years
Eligibility
- Pass in BSc Nursing / PB BSc Nursing from a university recognized by Indian Nursing Council, with minimum 55 % aggregate marks or equivalent
- Candidates must have 1 year of experience as on July 31, 2020 after BSc Nursing in a hospital of at least 100 beds / in a community health program or in a school or college of nursing.
- PB BSc Degree holders need to have one year experience either before or after Post Basic BSc Nursing degree
