Course:
Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife (ANM) is a Diploma Programme. Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife (ANM) course offered by Mother Teresa College of nursing Pudukottai. Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM) is a two-year diploma course with six months internship. ANM is the only option for students who wish to enter a nursing career after completing Plus two in a non-science stream. The subjects covered are community health nursing, mental health, child health nursing, midwifery, health centre management and human body & hygiene.The course focuses on training students on basics of health care like operating medical equipment, setting up of operation theatre, timely medication to patients, maintaining health records etc. By completing the course, students should be able to provide first aid and primary medical care to the patient. Some of the places the candidate can look out for jobs are community health centres, dispensaries, nursing homes, private and government hospitals.
