Civil Engineering is a mother of all branch of engineering, which deals with infrastructural development of the country. The department of civil engineering was established in the year 2004. PG courses of Structural Engineering and Construction Technology were introduced in the year 2011 and 2013 respectively. We are happy and proud to announce that our college has been granted Autonomous statues under VTU. Department is Accredited by NBA and NAAC with A grade. The Department has well equipped laboratories for teaching, R & D and industrial consultancy works. It aims to transform as leader in technical knowledge by providing excellent academic environment for the students which helps in grooming for innovative and challenging future in turn contribute for development of the nation. Department also offers consultancy and testing services in the field of Civil Engineering. Department of Civil Engineering is headed by Dr. D. L. Venkatesh Babu.
B.E. Civil Engineering is an undergraduate engineering course.Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, and railways.
Civil engineering is the broadest of the engineering fields. Civil engineering focuses on the infrastructure of the world which include Water works, Sewers, Dams, Power Plants, Transmission Towers/Lines, Railroads, Highways, Bridges, Tunnels, Irrigation Canals, River Navigation, Shipping Canals, Traffic Control, Mass Transit, Airport Runways, Terminals, Industrial Plant Buildings, Skyscrapers, etc. Among the important subdivisions of the field are construction engineering, irrigation engineering, transportation engineering, soils and foundation engineering, geodetic engineering, hydraulic engineering, and coastal and ocean engineering.
Eligibility
- All candidates must have completed and passed 10+2, or equivalent examination.
- Secured minimum of 45% aggregate marks with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Electronics / Computer Science as optional subject.
