The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering started since the inception of NCET in the year 2001 with an intake of 60 students which was enhanced to 90 in 2002 and subsequently to 120 in 2011. The department offers Undergraduate program that focus on enhancing technical and generic competencies, and the skills required by the graduates to face the challenges of technological advancements and be an agile learner.The department is equipped with spacious classrooms and digital technologies, supported by highly qualified and experienced academicians. The faculties have wide range of experience both from academic and industry that helps students to get current and relevant curricula required by the industry.To automate or to interact with any system, electronics plays the key role. Whether it is remote sensing, smart-city or AUVs, robots or smart mobiles or internet of things, electronics and communication is at the core. To accomplish such a challenging task our laboratories are suitably and well equipped with latest equipment. The department has a MOU with Texas Instruments & National Instruments to support students with latest industrial technologies and equipment.The department has permanent affiliation from VTU & is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The department is recognized as research centre with research grant from VTU to conduct research in cutting edge technologies.

Electronics and Communications Engineering is one of the most popular branches of engineering which involves researching, designing, developing, testing and maintaining of electronic equipment. Electronics and Communication Engineers also supervise the assembling and manufacturing of communication and broadcast systems. The field of Electronics and Communications Engineering has its foundations in three major technical areas: Mathematics: Information, Networks and Systems, Physics: Circuits, Semiconductor Devices & Optical Systems, and Computers: Microprocessors and Computing device.Eligibility
- All candidates must have completed and passed 10+2, or equivalent examination.
- Secured minimum of 45% aggregate marks with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Electronics / Computer Science as optional subject.
