The Mechanical Engineering Branch is called as an ever green branch and also called as a Royal Mechanical Engineering. The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the largest department in terms of faculty, students and activities at NCET, Bengaluru. The department offers B.E, MS by research and Ph.D programs.The department is having highly qualified and experienced faculty in all streams of Mechanical Engineering. The department has professors who have completed their doctoral degrees from IIT, NIT and other reputed universities. The department uses ICT tools and PBL for teaching and learning processes. The industrial visits and internships are organized by the department.
B.E Mechanical Engineering is an undergraduate program. Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and broadest among engineering disciplines. The application base of Mechanical Engineering field of study is diverse and its scope is continuously expanding beyond the traditional boundaries. Mechanical Engineering applies the principles of Physics, Materials Science and Mathematics to the design, development, research, evaluation, manufacture, installation, testing, operation, maintenance and management of mechanical systems. Mechanical Engineers use these core principles along with tools like computer-aided engineering and product life-cycle management to design, analyse and develop manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices, and others.Mechanical Engineer thinks up,design,realizes new products and processes, improves and optimizes existing technologies.
Eligibility
- All candidates must have completed and passed 10+2, or equivalent examination.
- Secured minimum of 45% aggregate marks with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Electronics / Computer Science as optional subject.
