Course
Master Of Commerce In Financial Analysis (M.Com. F.A) Is A Post Graduate Program Which Provides Platform To Students By Professional Education And Training In Various Aspects Of Business. This Program Provides A Blend Of Finance And Accounting Knowledge For Corporate Exposure. It Provides Prospects To Develop Managerial And Analytical Skills To Meet Global Challenges By The Sense Of Confidence, Competence And Skill Enhancement. He Course Aims To Sharpen Skills In Finance And Enables To Examine Financial Decisions Critically Based On Strong Financial Literacy. The Course Provides A Well-Balanced Toolbox, Helping A Candidate To Combine Tools, Techniques And Professional Judgment On Cutting Edge Topics. The Course Provides A Mixed Pedagogy Associating Practical Cases And Experience By Providing New Dimensions To The Finance Topics.
Duration
The Master Of Commerce Is A (M.Com. F.A) Is A Two-Year (Four Semesters) Program Consisting The 4 Semesters.
Eligibility
Candidates who have passed the three year B.Com./ B.B.M. degree examination of Bangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto, provided they have obtained not less than 50% (45% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in the aggregate in Commerce subjects.
Scheme Of Instruction
- In each semester there will be seven papers (including practicals)
- There will be 27 contact hours per week. This includes practicals.
- Candidates are required to maintain record for computer practicals, which will have to be certified by the Chairman / Co-ordinator of the course, failing which students will not be permitted to take the end semester examination in that subject.
Attendance
Each Course (Theory/Practical) Shall Be Treated As An Independent Unit For The Purpose Of Attendance. A Student Shall Attend A Minimum Of 75% Of The Total Instruction Hours In A Course (Theory/Practical) Including Tutorials And Seminars In Each Semester. There Shall Be No Provision For Condonation Of Shortage Of Attendance And A Student Who Fails To Secure 75% Attendance In A Course Shall Be Required To Repeat That Semester.
Medium Of Instruction
The Medium Of Instruction Shall Be English. However A Candidate Will Be Permitted To Write The Examination Either In English Or In Kannada.
Dissertation
Each Student Will Choose Business Research Project/Live Business Problem In A Business Organization Or Industry, And Prepare A Dissertation Report. He/She Will Formulate It As A Research/Consultancy Problem, Work Under The Guidance Of A Faculty Member On It During The II & III Semesters, Prepare A Report Based On His/Her Work Under The Guidance Of A Faculty Member And Submit At The End Of Each Semester. This Will Be Evaluated For 150 Marks. Project Dissertation Guidance For A Faculty Member Will Involve A Workload Of 5 Hours Per Week In A Semester. Dissertation Guidance Of 8 Students By A Faculty Member Will Be Equivalent To The Teaching Of One Paper Per Semester. Viva Voce Examination Will Be Conducted For 50 Marks By BOE.
