BE Aeronautical Engineering
Course
Aeronautical Engineering is taken as one of the most fascinating subjects in applied science and engineering around the Globe. On the other hand, the improvement of our nation can happen if we develop aerospace technology, which will facilitate for other technologies update proportionally. Aerospace engineers incubate new technologies for use in aviation, defense systems, and Aerospace exploration, often specializing in areas such as aerodynamics, aerospace propulsion, aerospace structures, guidance, navigation and control, instrumentation and communication, or production methods.
The Department offers a vibrant academic atmosphere which enables independent research and free exchange of ideas. The department has continuous interaction with R & D organizations of international reputation in the field of aerospace engineering that lead to mutually beneficial research activities.
The department of Aeronautical Engineering was established in 2011-12 with an intake of 60 with appropriate approval of AICTE, New Delhi and VTU(Visvesvaraya Technological University). Besides, there are an additional 10% seats (2019 onwards) under lateral entry scheme. The intake is increased to 120 from the Academic year 2020-21. The department has grown rapidly ever since its establishment. The department started M Tech program in Aerospace Engineering with an intake of 18 from the academic year 2019 and proposed to open a Research Centre under VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University) from the academic year 2020 onwards. The goal of the department is to mentor the students into top class aeronautical engineers, suitable for employment in the National and International scenarios and almost catering successful engineers into various aerospace organizations continuously.
