M.Tech. VLSI Design and Embedded Systems
Course
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering offers an M. Tech Program in VLSI Design & Embedded Systems since the year 2007 with an annual intake of 18 students. The M. Tech program is affiliated to VTU. The M. Tech students are encouraged to take internship in various research centers like DRDO, NAL, LRDE, IISc etc. At NMIT, students take up research activities under the Center of Excellence for Small Satellite Research and the Center of Excellence for Nano materials and MEMS. At these centers students can do their internship and their final year project.
This course aims at preparing students to develop knowledge and skills in VLSI design methodology with a systems perspective in order to facilitate the use of computer-aided design tools for the analysis and design of special-purpose digital and analog circuits and systems.
Eligibility
Admission to M.Tech course shall be open to candidates who have passed the prescribed qualifying examination (B. E./B.Tech) as specified in ANNEXURE with not less than 50% marks in aggregate of all the all the semesters/years of the degree examination. (Cumulative sum of secured marks of all the semesters/ years divided by the sum of maximum marks). However, in case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST and Category-1, aggregate marks shall not be less than 45%.
