Ph.D. Forestry is a research program offered by North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology. Ph.D. is the highest level of academic achievement for an aspirant in any subject,as it is the culmination of many years of study. The program gives specific attention to botany,biology, and ecology. The genetic and physical aspects of a tree focus on forest tree breeding,forest genetics, and tree physiology. The competing needs of the forest industry and environmental conservation are explored by eco informatics and forest growth, silviculture,conservation, and landscape management.Most of the Ph.D. holders in Forestry pursue jobs in academics and work as full-time researchers or professors by sharing their knowledge with other graduates and undergraduates. Some candidates work as consultants or leaders of the research team. The students are hired both in private and public sector jobs.
Duration : The minimum duration to pursue Ph.D. is 3 years
Eligibility : The aspirants with M.Sc in Forestry or equivalent from a recognized University
