Course:
Master of Science (M.Sc.) Child Health Nursing is a PG Programme offered by Our Lady of Health School & College of Nursing Thanjavur . M.Sc. Paediatric Nursing is a two-year postgraduate course specialising in child care, starting from neonatal to teenage. Registered nurses or registered midwives with relevant work experience are eligible to join this course. Graduates holding B.Sc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc nursing can apply for this course. The course covers subjects including pre-natal nursing; nursing care for hospitalised child & family; child development, growth & behavioural issues; paediatrics nursing; community paediatrics; assessment and nursing intervention of paediatrics medical/surgical disorder; dealing emergency; nursing challenged child; administration of pediatric unit; administrating medicines. The employment area covers school-based clinics, parish clinics, migrant clinics, rural health clinics, collaborative clinical practice, medically underserved areas, clinical research and speciality practice.
Duration: 2 years
Eligibility:
The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc.Hons. Nursing/ Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with not less than of 55% aggregate marks from an institution that is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
