Course
BE in Computer Science & Engineering is an undergraduate program. Computer science and engineering are now cornerstones of the information society. This course is designed to enable learners for industry, academia, and public service, providing technical leadership by solving significant problems across a broad spectrum. The course is cross-disciplinary, allowing students to learn the language specificities of computer science, explore programming or modelling and design, and all of the other core aspects of the subject, whilst being also trained in industrial ethics and engaging in industry-inspired lab sessions.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 2000 with a vision to provide IT knowledge, managerial skills and technical advancements and hence to address the demanding needs of IT industries and R&D sectors. The department is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The Department offers four years Bachelor degree programme, Two years Master degree programme and Doctoral programme in Computer Science and Engineering. The Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral programmes will help our students for their productive careers in industry, academia, research and government sectors. The Doctoral degree programme focus on innovative research in the areas of Pattern Recognition and Image Processing, Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery, Database Systems, Network Security, Mobile Communication, Bioinformatics, Parallel Processing, Cloud Computing and other related areas. To strengthen these research activities, the department has established a research centre which is recognized by Visvesvaraya Technological University. The department faculty members have established themselves in nationally and internationally recognized research programs, including those of interdisciplinary nature.Duration : 4 Years
Eligibility : The candidate shall have passed the Second year Pre-University of XII std or equivalent examinations held preceding the entrance test with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Electronics and has secured not less than 45% of the aggregate marks in optional subjects with English as one of the languages of the study. 40% marks in case of Karnataka candidates who belong to SC, ST and OBC.
