Course
Masters of surgery in Anatomy or MS in Anatomy is a three-year course that is imparted with six semesters, each with six months. Our PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Coimbatore is recognized under the Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University Chennai. The course provided by the Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University under the leadership of PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research is the sub field in general surgery that comprises surgical expertise and related skills. There are lots of subdivisions in anatomy like phytology,cytology, histology, embryology and zoology. Anatomy is the branch of study related to the structural organization of living beings. The syllabus of the MS in Anatomy includes History of Anatomy, Principles of Physical Anthropology, General Anatomy, museum techniques,embalming techniques including medico- legal aspects and knowledge of Anatomy Act,elements of anatomy, medical ethics, gross human anatomy, recent advances in anatomy,cross-sectional anatomy, practical schedule, applied anatomy, principles of microscopy and histological techniques, general and systemic histology, general and systemic embryology including growth and development and teratology, neuroanatomy, surface anatomy,radiological anatomy including principles and newer techniques, and interpretation of CT scan, sonography, MRI and human genetics. Aspirants can pursue this course only after passing the MBBS degree with scoring a minimum of 50% marks. After this course, the scholars can achieve a successful career like Operating room technician,Allergist, Genetic counsellor, Physician assistant, Acupuncturist, Urologist, and cardiologist.
