Course
RVCE established the Biotechnology department in 2002, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, with adequate support from the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (R.S.S.T). The UG Programme in Biotechnology is accredited by National Board of Accreditation for 3 years from 2015-2018 and for 5 years from 2008 -2013. Infrastructure facilities of the department are spread over 2044 Sq Meters with well equipped laboratories, lecture halls and departmental library. It also has an air conditioned seminar hall accommodating 120 persons with multimedia facilities. The department library is well stocked with reference books, text books and journals.
B.E. in Biotechnology is an undergraduate program.Biotechnology is a science-driven industry sector that makes use of living organisms and molecular biology to produce healthcare-related products and therapeutics or to run processes (such as DNA fingerprinting). Biotechnology is best known for its increasingly important role in the fields of medicine and pharmaceuticals, and is also applied in other areas such as genomics, food production, and the production of biofuels.
Eligibility
- 10th Std: Min 70% in Science & Mathematics subjects separately.
- 11th Std: Min. 65% in Physics & Mathematics subjects separately.
- If 12th Std. results are announced: Min. 60% in Physics & Mathematics subjects separately.
- Candidates should compulsory appear in either CET 2020/COMEDK 2020 / JEE 2020 / Any other National Entrance Test for Professional Programs.
