Course
M.Tech in Product Design and Manufacturing got accredited for two years in 2019. The department is engaged in sponsored research, consultancy, testing and characterization majorly in the areas of advanced materials development, processing and designThis course presents an overview of the product design and development process, along with the manufacturing aspects. The concepts Design for Manufacturing and assembly, analytical tools for development, costing which help the students learn to conceptualize, design and manufacture competitively priced quality products.Robust Design, Design for Manufacturing and assembly, Finite Element Analysis, Product Design for Quality, Advanced Materials and Manufacturing process, Research Methodology Etc. are the few courses offered.
M.Tech. in Product Design and Manufacturing is a postgraduate program.Product design and manufacturing engineering involves the study of the design methodologies, engineering materials, and the selection and control of manufacturing processes used in the development, design, and manufacturing of engineering products.
Eligibility
- A candidate who has passed prescribed qualifying examination BE/B.Tech. or equivalent and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all subjects in all the years is eligible for admission to M.Tech. and 45% of marks in case of SC/ST candidates.
- Candidates should have taken PGCET or should have a valid GATE Score/Rank.
- If the candidates has not qualified / appeared in PGCET/GATE a separate Entrance Test will be conducted for the candidates in the college.
