Course
M.Sc. Agricultural Entomology or Master of Science in Agricultural Entomology is a postgraduate Agriculture course. Agricultural Entomology is a multidisciplinary area of research with collaboration with other units both within and outside of the department. Simply, it is applied ecology with roots in plant protection and the population dynamics of insects. The focus of the agricultural entomology unit is not only insect pests but also the beneficial arthropods found in the agro-ecosystem that contribute to ecosystem services such as biological control and pollination. An important component of research in plant protection is the interaction among pest insects, their natural enemies and alternative prey. The Master Degree course is career orienting in nature that opens many opportunities after its successful passing.
Duration : 2 Years
Eligibility : A candidate with a basic degree in Agriculture is a must to be eligible for Master’s degree programme in Agriculture. For M.Sc. (Agri.) in different disciplines, the candidates should have a minimum CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 7.00 on a 10.00 point scale in B.Sc. (Agri.) degree offered by an approved University within India and should be a Resident of India.
