B.E. Civil Engineering is an undergraduate engineering course.Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, and railways.
Civil engineering is the broadest of the engineering fields. Civil engineering focuses on the infrastructure of the world which include Water works, Sewers, Dams, Power Plants, Transmission Towers/Lines, Railroads, Highways, Bridges, Tunnels, Irrigation Canals, River Navigation, Shipping Canals, Traffic Control, Mass Transit, Airport Runways, Terminals, Industrial Plant Buildings, Skyscrapers, etc. Among the important subdivisions of the field are construction engineering, irrigation engineering, transportation engineering, soils and foundation engineering, geodetic engineering, hydraulic engineering, and coastal and ocean engineering.
Being one of the oldest branches of engineering, Civil engineering makes the society more sophisticated and provides comfort to the people.The Civil Engineering Department of RIT was established in the year 2010 with an intake of 60 students which increased to 120 students in the year 2014. The Department offers an under graduate program in Civil engineering. It has well equipped laboratories with sophisticated and state of the art instruments and facility. With highly qualified faculty and dedicated technical staff the department provides an ideal environment for academic pursuits.
Duration : 4 Years
Eligibility :Candidates have to pass their 10+2 examinations or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. with 55% of marks to be eligible for this course.
