Course
The Department of Computer science and Engineering (CSE) has fifteen faculty with the doctorate degree and 14 perusing the doctoral studies. The faculty has been publishing in refereed journals and in conference proceedings. The department also conducts vocational courses and proficiency courses on fundamental and new programming languages and computer science concepts. These courses are conducted beyond college hours/summer semester by the faculty of the department. Some of the faculty are involved in institutional level activities and actively involved in interdisciplinary research activities. The department has state of the art laboratories like SAP, IBM Centre of Excellence and Cuda learning center. Technical seminars, workshops and hackathons are conducted regularly for UG & PG students. The department encourages the students to conduct and participate in extra-curricular/sports activities. The alumni network is very active and regular meeting are conducted by the department. The department is accredited by Nation Board of Accreditation (NBA) for the period of 3 years. The department has MoUs with leading IT Industries like NVIDIA, SAP, IBM and HP. The department conducts subjects with more of hands-on sessions and encourages students to take up MOOC based online courses in NPTEL, IITBombayX, Coursera, Udacity and edX.
BE in Computer Science & Engineering is an undergraduate program. Computer science and engineering are now cornerstones of the information society. This course is designed to enable learners for industry, academia, and public service, providing technical leadership by solving significant problems across a broad spectrum. The course is cross-disciplinary, allowing students to learn the language specificities of computer science, explore programming or modelling and design, and all of the other core aspects of the subject, whilst being also trained in industrial ethics and engaging in industry-inspired lab sessions.
Eligibility
- A candidate who has passed 10 + 2 pattern of examination (equivalent to the two year Pre University in Karnataka) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible to pursue an undergraduate degree in engineering at MSRIT.
- The eligibility for admission is 45% in case of General Category and 40% marks in the qualifying examination in case of SC/ST, Category-1 and OBC Category candidates. The marks obtained by the candidate in Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics in the qualifying examination will be considered in the place of Chemistry in case the marks obtained in Chemistry is less for the required aggregate percentage for the purpose of determination of eligibility (and not for the purpose of determination of rank, in respect of engineering/technology courses).
