Master of Library and Information Science (M.L.I.Sc.) is a postgraduate course. It is an advanced (Master’s level) course related to the field of library and information science. is a professional postgraduate degree level course that covers the study of principles and practices of Library Science and Library Administration along with the current technologies applied to these processes. Also termed as MLIS it mainly includes the study of collection management, information systems and technology, research methods, cataloguing and classification, preservation, reference, statistics, database management, information architecture and knowledge management, etc.
Eligibility
Passed Bachelor of Library Science (B.Lib.) or Bachelor of Library and Information Science (B.L.I.Sc.) from a recognized institute. Candidate must also have scored at least 55% aggregate marks in Degree course.
Duration: 2 years
Higher Studies
After completing M.L.I.Sc. program, interested candidates may go for further studies. Programs like M.Phil. in Library and Information Science and PhD in Library and Information Science are available in front of them.
