Master of Technology (M.Tech) Digital Communication and Networking
M.Tech in Digital Communication and Networking
Course
Electronics and Communication Engineering is an engineering discipline involving design, development, manufacture and deployment of Electronic and Communication systems. It deals with electronic devices, circuits, communication equipment like transmitter, receiver, integrated circuits (IC), analog and digital transmission and reception of data, voice and video, microprocessors, satellite communication, microwave engineering, antennae and wave progression. Signal and Image processing, Communication Technologies, Embedded Systems, VLSI Systems are some of the specialized areas available in electronics for further study.
As the backbone of the digital age, digital communications allows information to be communicated over copper wire, fiber-optic cable, and the air. The first wireless digital communications systems used spark-gap transmitters that used wide spectrum impulses to send single bits. In comparison, today’s modern communication systems make efficient use of spectrum to transmit large amounts of data between multiple users. They connect cell phones to the cellular network, computers to the Internet, and provide you with simple conveniences like unlocking your car doors without a key. As the number of transmitters rise, engineers will be challenged to make the most of scarce spectrum and deal with interference while meeting the increasing demand for higher data rates and reducing power consumption. It’s increasingly important for all engineers and scientists to have a fundamental understanding of RF communications principles as they incorporate wireless technology into everything from power plants to medical devices.
The School of Electronics and Communication Engineering at REVA UNIVERSITY offers M. Tech., in Digital Electronics and Networking –a postgraduate programme to create motivated, innovative, creative and thinking graduates to fill the roles of Communication Engineers who can conceptualize, design, analyze and develop digital communication systems and networks to meet the modern day requirements.
The digital communication and networking industries are growing continuously. The telecommunications ecosystem expects IoT to become a critical engine for future growth. One of the most successful IoT applications thus far has been the connected car. The largest US carriers have made significant investments in the connected-car space over the last several years, and we are already seeing strong growth in mobile subscriptions for connected vehicles. Connected cars, in addition to other categories of IoT, will continue to be an important growth area for carriers in 2018.
The potential for IoT extends far beyond connected cars. These opportunities include the connected consumer and the broader universe of connected things with applications such as connected home monitoring and control, entertainment, wearables, and more. In addition, the connected enterprise market features applications such as connected vehicle fleets, predictive maintenance, factory automation, workforce training and field support, and countless other examples. Each of these will dramatically broaden the reach of wireless for consumers and business users.
Intel, Alcatel-Lucent, IBM, TCS, HCL, Microsoft, Apple, Samsung, Vodafone, Atos Origin, Micromax, Dell India, Nokia, Motorola, A.I.R., Honeywell, Aircel, Videocon, Reliance, Wipro, Cisco Networking, Onida, Broadcom etc. are some of the companies in Digital communication and networking domain
In this context, The School of Electronics and Communication Engineering at REVA UNIVERSITY would like to add to the growing human resources needs of Digital Communication and Networking domain as engineers through its M. Tech. programme in Digital Communication and Networking
