The department’s teaching and research areas include network, microprocessor, communications, signal and image processing. pattern recognition, electronics circuits, solid-state electronics, microwave electronics, system and control biomedical electronics, VLSI, CAD, Parallel and distributed processing. Development of non-technical skills such as communication and teamwork is also emphasized.
Electronics and communications engineering are one of the vast and quickly developing field of engineering.there are huge opportunities for electrical and communication engineering. This field has a great scope in India & other countries. An electronic engineer can get a new line of work in Health care equipment manufacturing, Mobile communication(2G,3G,4G), Internet technologies, oil and substance industry, coordinating control and testing generation process. They may likewise work with computers and electronic equipment in the medical, manufacturing, telecommunications, aeronautical and military fields. Electronics and Communication Engineers are recruited by top companies like Siemens, Motorola, Intel, Samsung,Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Indian Navy, Railways etc.

Eligibility
Pass in PUC or 10 +2 equivalent examination with a minimum of 45 % (40% for SC /ST and OBC groups) marks aggregate in Physics and Mathematics and any one of the following subjects-Biology / Chemistry / Computer Sciences / Electronics.
