Course
The Bachelor of Visual Arts is a practical degree which offers you the opportunity to develop and refine high-level technical and creative skills and knowledge for working with the forms, materials and technologies of a chosen studio discipline. The visual arts are art forms such as painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, video, film making, design, crafts, and architecture. Many artistic disciplines (performing arts, conceptual art, textile arts) involve aspects of the visual arts as well as arts of other types.
Specialization Program:
- B.V.A in Traditional Sculpture And Temple Architecture : The course is designed to impart a sound practical knowledge in traditional sculpture and Temple architecture. Traditional sculpture prior to the 20th century had four main defining characteristics. First, it was the only three dimensional art form. Second, it was representational. Third, it was viewed as an art of solid form. This course explores the emergence and development of the Hindu temple (Mandir), examines the relationship between form and function, rituals, iconography, and emphasizes the importance of considering temple sculpture and architecture together.
