Course:
Master of Science (M.Sc.) Community Health Nursing is a PG Programme offered by Saveetha College of Nursing Chennai . M.Sc Community Health Nursing is a two-year postgraduate course to enhance knowledge in public/community health care. The student should be a registered nurse or midwife with at least one-year work experience in the same field. B.Sc nursing, B.Sc Hons. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. nursing graduates can apply for this course. The curriculum gives extensive knowledge in both public health and nursing. The syllabus covers public policies, theories, principals, demographic characteristics, identifying high-risk groups, partnering with communities, developing culturally-sensitive, acceptable and community-based nursing interventions. Along with that, syllabus also covers medical-surgical nursing, paediatric nursing, psychiatric nursing, obstetric & gynaecological nursing, community health nursing, research and statistics. The competent nurses can pursue their career as a community nurse, school health nurse, nursing specialists, clinical instructor and researcher.

Eligibility:
- A candidate for admission to the M.Sc. Degree in Nursing must possess a Degree of B.Sc. Nursing from a College / University duly recognized by the Indian Nursing Council with minimum 55% aggregate marks and should have one year of experience, after graduation.
