Principal's Message
Welcome to SIT, “Our College”
Shetty Engineering college is an emerging Engineering College arising on the horizon of Technical Education. College aims at quality education and holistic development of its students.
The college is located on the outskirts of the city far from the hustle and bustle and in a peaceful, quite atmosphere. It has the best building, architecturally sound, sprawling across an 18 acres of land, and has the best infrastructure possible. It has best faculty, chosen and tested. Guest faculty is invited as additional help.
The college is a Wi-Fi enabled campus, every student and staff here is made to possess a laptop. Office is automated. SBI provides for online banking services for office and students.
The college maintains best discipline, not even a single class let off. Every class taken by the staff is accounted for.
Every student here is made to acquire an additional skill in addition to his regular studies. A variety of skill sets are offered for each student, right from second year.
English speaking is made mandatory. Everyone here has to speak in English, perforce. An English Academy and an English Club will be established this year.
Several student activity centres exist. A student has to enrol in one or more of them. Chapters of professional bodies are opened and these will let students remain academically active.
The college will acquire an ISO certification for its studies this year. The process is about to complete.
The college brings out a “News letter” every semester. The News Letter is hosted on to the website.
College Conducts Projects Exhibition every year.
The college has set up "smart class rooms" for first year this year and is going to extend them higher up. The class rooms and buses will be fitted with video cameras for close monitoring.
Cultural activities are conducted on a regular basis and are included in the college time table, on every alternate Saturdays.
The college is going to shift its students to a new full-fledged 150 room hostel building located within the campus from this acadeic year.
A new website is launched, indicative of a fresh start.
This year’s resolve - This year the college will conduct a National level seminar one in each department, will sign for an MOU with at least one foreign university, will automate its library, will have Auditorium Air-Conditioned, will have its Placement strengthened, will adopt a village for its development, will adopt ‘student teaching assistants’
We will start a new activity on each day!
Over and above all this, it will conduct its own “Self Audit” every semester.
