Course
BA. (Sanskrit Sahitya) is a 3-year undergraduate program offered by Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit Kalady. The candidate should have completed plus two from a recognized board with good marks. Sanskrit is a historical Indo- Aryan language and the primary liturgical language of Hinduism and Buddhism, and the official language of Uttarakhand State. Many schools, colleges and universities teach Sanskrit. The subjects include English, Preliminaries of Sanskrit Core, Methodology for Sanskrit Studies, History of Sanskrit Literature, Prose and Poetry, Functional Sanskrit, Kerala Sanskrit Literature, Mahakavyas, Linguistics, Modern Sanskrit Literature, Vrtta and Alankara, Sanskrit and Informatics, History of Sanskrit Aesthetics, Sankhya and Nyaya, Vyakarana, Sanskrit Poetics–I (Pre Dhvani period), Sanskrit Drama, Project, Vedanta and Mimamsa, Gadyakavya and Khandakavya, Sanskrit Dramaturgy, Sanskrit Poetics, choice-based- studies on Bhasa. The open courses include Indian Theories of Knowledge, Theories in Sanskrit Aesthetics, Indian Theories of Meaning, Environmental Awareness in Sanskrit, Poetry in Sanskrit. On course completion, students can opt for higher studies in Sanskrit or pursue careers in industries like print, media, publishing houses, e-research firms, global organizations, NGOs, translation houses, the travel industry, tourism industry, hotel industry, schools, colleges and universities.
