Course
M.Tech information science and technology is a post graduate Computer Science course.Computer and Information sciences is designed to meet the needs of applicants interested in advancing their undergraduate qualification, in bettering their career opportunities, or in exploring a specialist area of interest.The degree combines research and professional approach to deliver skills and knowledge that can be applied in industry practice,and the industry or academic research
Duration
There shall be two categories:
1) Full Time Course and
2) Part Time Course
Full Time Course
The course shall extend over a period of two academic years and each year shall have the following schedule:
First Year: 44 weeks duration
- 16 weeks course work + 28 weeks for (Preparation, Examination), Case Study Presentation and Publications.
Second Year: 44 weeks duration
- Review of literature + Proposal Submission + 2 Assignments + 2 research papers in Refereed Journals + 2 Paper Presentation in the Conferences with publication in ISBN Proceedings + Thesis Work.
Part Time Course:
(a) The course shall extend over 3 years.
(b) First & second year shall comprise of course work and
(c) The third year shall be entirely devoted to research, publications and thesis work.
Eligibility
(a) The candidates shall possess a Degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent or M.C.A or M.Sc.( IT/CS/Maths) degree from any recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 6.75 out of 10 or 60% aggregate marks in both Bachelors and Masters Degree.
(b) For lateral entry, the candidates possessing M.C.A/M.Sc.(CS/IT) with Mphil or M.Sc./MCA with Ph.D. in Computer Science or M.Tech (CS/IT) or BE /B.Tech./MCA/M.Sc. (IT/CS/Maths) with 5 years experience in IT/ITES industry/research/Teaching Computer Science/ IT/ IT related subjects at PG level shall be eligible, subject to approval by the Admissions Committee. However, the candidates who have not undergone research coursework in M.Phil./Ph.D. have to pass the entire examinations of first year.
