Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Medical Education
Course
PhD in Medical Education prepares graduates for a substantive future career as an educational researcher. Medical education is education related to the practice of being a medical practitioner; either the initial training to become a physician (i.e., medical school and internship), or additional training thereafter (e.g., residency, fellowship and continuing medical education). Medical education and training varies considerably across the world. Various teaching methodologies have been utilised in medical education, which is an active area of educational research. Medical education is also the subject-didactic academic field of educating medical doctors at all levels, applying theories of pedagogy specifically in the context of medical education.
Duration
Duration of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Education is a 3 year-long doctoral programme.
Eligibility
Master of science in related discipline from faculty of Medicine with 55% in aggregate from a recognized University on regular basis.
Ph.D Entrance Examination
The Entrance Examination shall be conducted at the Centre(s) notified in advance. The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of Research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific. The related syllabus shall be notified in advance in the website. The marks at the qualifying examination shall be 50%. Maximum weightage (70%) shall be given to the written test and 30% to the interview.
