Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Nursing (Interdisciplinary)
Course
A Ph.D. nurse is one who has completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing degree. A Ph.D., or doctoral degree, is the highest level of education a nurse can achieve. Different from a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, which focuses on advanced clinical practice, a Ph.D. in Nursing program is a research and science-focused degree that prepares nurses for careers conducting important medical research that will advance the entire nursing profession and for teaching nursing at the college level.
This course facilitates the provision of high quality and cost-effective services for patients/clients.Over the course of the year, students will have time to reflect upon the changing nature of Health Care, nationally and internationally, giving each participant time to analyze the context in which they provide care to patients. This course contributes to the development of knowledge and analytical skills of students and enhances action and decision making skills, providing a solid foundation for lifelong learning.
Students on this course develop specific skills pertaining to the facilitation of health gain, and the maintenance of health status, enhancing each graduate nurse's employability and adaptability relevant to nursing employers across a variety of healthcare settings. With the provision of electives, students are offered a variety of choices, allowing for the development of learning, related to specific areas of practice.
Duration
Duration of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Radiology and Radiation Physics is a 3 year doctoral programme.
Eligibility
Master of science in related discipline from faculty of Medicine with 55% in aggregate from a recognized University on regular basis.
Ph.D Entrance Examination
The Entrance Examination shall be conducted at the Centre(s) notified in advance. The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of Research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific. The related syllabus shall be notified in advance in the website. The marks at the qualifying examination shall be 50%. Maximum weightage (70%) shall be given to the written test and 30% to the interview.
