B.E. Information Science and Engineering is an Under-Graduation course.Information science focuses on understanding problems from the perspective of the stakeholders involved and then applying information and other technologies as needed. In other words, it tackles systemic problems first rather than individual pieces of technology within that system.It also throws light on how to analyse and interpret the raw data. It is an academic field which is primarily concerned with analysis, collection, classification, manipulation, storage, retrieval, movement, dissemination, and protection of information.
The Department of Information Science & Engineering was established in the year 2000 with an intake of 60 students.. The department offers one undergraduate program (B.E in Information Science and Engineering) and two postgraduate programs (M.Tech in Software Engineering, M.Tech in Data Science). The department has highly qualified faculty members who have rich experience in the area of Data Science, Machine Learning and Computational Intelligence.Duration : 4 Years
Eligibility : Students who have passed PUC/10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology, with at least 45% of marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
