Master of Technology (M.Tech) Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering
Course
M.Tech. in Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering is a postgraduate course. Master of Technology (M.Tech) course offered by Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) Tirupati. Water Resources Engineering is a specialty of civil engineering that focuses on water supplies, irrigation and waste disposal. It also addresses methods for controlling water to avoid water-related damage and catastrophes.Water Resource Engineering is the offshoot of civil engineering that involves the design of new systems and equipment that help manage human water resources. Some of the areas that Water Resource Engineers work in are water treatment facilities, underground wells, and natural springs.Water Resource Engineers are responsible for creating new equipment and systems to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of water treatment and aquatic resource management. A typical workday involves the analysis of data from relevant areas, then designing new or improved facilities to enhance the cleansing effects of the water treatment system.Hydraulic topics range through some parts of science and most of engineering modules, and cover concepts such as pipe flow, dam design, fluidics and fluid control circuitry. The principles of hydraulics are in use naturally in the human body within the vascular system and erectile tissue.Free surface hydraulics is the branch of hydraulics dealing with free surface flow, such as occurring in rivers, canals, lakes, estuaries and seas. Its sub-field open-channel flow studies the flow in open channels.
