Course
Masters of Surgery in ophthalmology or MS in Ophthalmology is a post-graduation course that is extended for three years, divided into six semesters. Ophthalmology is a branch of a study that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and disease condition of our body part's sensitive and crucial organ, which is known as the eye. The doctor who specializes in ophthalmology and who takes care of vision is known as Ophthalmologist. Aspirants who score a minimum of 50% for all subjects in MBBS (Bachelor of Science and Medicine) from a recognized university can attain this PG course. Our St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences offers a syllabus including Anatomy and Development of the Eye, Elementary and Physiological Optics, Errors of Refraction,Physiology of Eye and Vision, Diseases of Lens, Diseases of Cornea, Diseases of Conjunctiva,Diseases of Sclera, Disorders of Ocular Motility, Ocular Pharmacology, Community Ophthalmology, Neuro-ophthalmology, Diseases of Retina and Vitreous, Glaucoma, Trauma and Emergency Ophthalmology, Disorders of the eyelids, orbit, lacrimal drainage apparatus,Occuloplasty, Disorders of the Optic Nerve, and more.
