General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM):
Course:
General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a three and half year diploma course (including six months internship) aims at preparing students to become competent nurses and midwives. Topics covered are general health care, nursing and midwifery. At the end of the course, they will be educated and clinically trained in care-taking and nursing the patients. They can work in hospitals, clinics, community health care, government or private health.
Duration: 3 Years
Eligibility:
- Minimum and maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years respectively. For ANM / LHV, there is no age bar.
- Minimum education 10+2 class passed or its equivalent preferably with science (physics, chemistry and Biology) subjects with aggregate 45% marks.
- ANM training i.e. 10+11/2 years training should also have passed +2 or its equivalent examination.
- In addition to the above, admission procedure can be laid down by concerned State Nursing Council / Nursing Examination Boards.
